These measurements are more than enough for the requirements of portability. Additionally, this notebook has a thin screen bezel, and it is only about 3-pounds of weight.

With the portability, performance, and battery life, this Swift 3 notebook model from Acer meets the demands of today’s modern on-the-go lifestyle. For the students in particular (because of budget constraints).

The Acer Swift 3 design with a classy and elegant aluminum chassis or crafted with the aluminum exterior may give most of its users feel much enjoyment in term of visual, which is not generally at this price range.

Keyboard & Trackpad

As for the keyboard quality, dealing with the keyboard issue, Acer made the right decision when design Swift 3 with a backlit keyboard just like many other productive ultrabooks.

Swift 3 feature with a keyboard which its buttons are backlit individually. The backlit keyboard is good enough and may improve the keys visibility in a dark place.

The keyboard also designs very well-spaced, which makes it very accurate and comfortable when pressing the key button.

Acer Swift 3 touchpad, which is under its keyboard, has a large tracking area and has good accuracy. However, many of the users complaining about its touchpad because of the click produces a louder sound than other laptops.

For some user, it is a bit annoying, mainly when we use it in a quiet place like doing a presentation.

Finger Print Scanner

Being in the productive notebook category is something that may shock the users for its prices, but, this machine does not feature by the excellent touchscreen ability.

Even though, Acer company give this device a Windows Hello fingerprint function that provides a quick and secure way to verify its user’s identity and access it.

Some Swift 3 user has complained about the fingerprint sensor physical looks. It’s a bit annoying and uncomfortable to the eyes. But, it is not something you could not get used in a time to come.

Webcam & Microphones

Above the screen, on the middle of its thin monitor bezel, there is a front camera or webcam and several microphones.

Based on Acer product descriptions, they provided this laptop with Acer technology called PurifiedVoice that can help to deliver your message clearly and accurately.

Acer has claimed the HD front camera feature with Super HDR technology. Moreover, it can ensure face-to-face chats clear and give sharp details of images, even when in very bright or dark areas.

Although there are some feedbacks from its users claim, the webcam is okay and work well enough, but not as good as other laptops such as Apple MacBook Air MMGG2LL/A and HP Pavilion 14. If it’s still not the best, again, it’s not bad at all for a machine with this value.

When working on-the-go, especially for these days, connectivity is essential. So, when it comes to connectivity, this machine also provided by its manufacturer with comprehensive connectivity.

On the left side, there is a charging port, HDMI port for video/audio output, dual USB 3.0 Type-A port, a USB Type-C port (USB 3.1 Gen 1), and an audio jack. On the opposite side, an SD memory card reader, and a USB 2.0 Type-A port.

Though, it doesn’t have the fancy Thunderbolt 3 port, but, featuring those mentioned ports are good enough in term of connectivity or being able to connect with many peripherals through your everyday tasks and use.

Screen & Display Quality

When it comes to displaying quality, Acer Swift 3 features a 14-inch widescreen Full HD LED-backlit IPS display, with max resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels and super-narrow bezel.

Judging from its screen quality info, it may give you vibrant images and sharp colors. Acer also added, not only the Acer Color Intelligence provides excellent clarity to the pictures and color, and also has a wide viewing angle.

The display might have some reflection, and it is not a luxury touch screen just like other high-end ultrabook had.

However, for everyday use like watching movies, images, doing your assignment, and so on, it is more than enough.

Battery Performance

According to its manufacturer, Acer has claimed the battery performance, and life of Swift 3 can hold up to 12 hours of battery life.

Maybe it’s true but, obviously and undoubtedly they have tested it with the lowest display brightness with minimal processing load, or perhaps on a standby mode.

Estimating from its 3320 mAh battery capacity and processor type and performance, it may hold up to most likely 7 hours (more or less) on average use.

So, it is is still considered an average in battery performance, and it can serve you for an entire day in college or at the office.

Within the mentioned budget cost range, features with 8 GB of RAM or memory and a quad-core Intel Core i5 CPU (Central Processing Unit) from the 8th Generation family. It may easily handle the medium to high-end tasks.

In addition to that, this machine also features the SSD type drive which can make Swift 3 boot fast, maybe it less than 10 seconds. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have any dedicated graphics card and only uses the integrated video card.

Intel UHD Graphics 620 graphics engine is not meant to play games with intense graphics settings. It won’t affect and causes any problems when playing most light and old games though.

But, for the fewer latest games like PUBG, Fortnite, Dota II, and many others should run well at low graphics setting.

With the price range, the Swift 3 notebook model from Acer should serve you more than enough with its performance. It also has a premium, and elegant body design, plus the portable design may help you through the modern on the go lifestyle.

It is highly recommended, especially for the students, but if you are someone who averages or serious in gaming, the Asus VivoBook S 14 and MSI GV62 8RD-200 may help. Though the Swift 3 battery life is only an average level, and its SSD storage capacity is something that isn’t satisfying enough.

You can add or buy external storage to save your other files from reclaiming the drive capacity if it runs out. However, based on Swift 3 features, you’ll hardly find this kind of laptop in the market currently within this cost range.
