Style & Design

This notebook is delivering a full display in a 14-inch laptop, and to be precise, the 92 percent design of the screen-to-body rate almost forms a full-screen display without the border. As Asus has improved the structural design, it’ll give their user experience the difference in style of the full view screen capacity compare to the other laptop in this category.

And, just as described above, with the new bezels and some other design modifications this is a seriously small, light, and compact Asus laptop. When we compare to the MateBook X Pro this ZenBook 14 UX433FA-DH74 unit is also lighter, weighing just around 1.18 kg or 2.6 pounds with the standard screen.

But, for some users with 1.60 cm of thickness, it may be a little thicker, but still, consider as a slim laptop though. Asus company uses the ErgoLift hinge which you can find on other ZenBook unit.

Not only the Asus ZenBook 14 UX433FA-DH74 featuring awesome portability for its design but also, sturdy aluminum material with a premium quality build and paint by the royal-blue color makes it one of the elegant, glossy, and strong ultrabooks at the moment.

Keyboard

For productivity purpose such as word-processing task, this little machine comes with full-size backlit keyboard. Based on Asus product descriptions, it delivers an excellent typing experience with the improved typing position.

With the exclusive ErgoLift hinge, it is an engineering masterpiece designed to tilted at the perfect angle for comfort. Besides, its chiclet-style backlit keyboard has a well-spaced design and with just 1.4mm amount of key travel.

Touchpad

What makes the ZenBook 14 UX433FA-DH74 unique is the trackpad, they’ve replaced the fingerprint reader by a virtual NumPad toggle.

The touchpad has a built-in LED-illuminated and switchable numeric keypad which can be accessed when by pressing a small icon on the top right corner.

However, in term of sensitivity, many of its users complain this unit has a little deficiency of its sensitivity when navigating the cursor and also on the tap-to-click.

Connectivity

Being able to connect to almost anything is essential when you’re working on the go. So, on this machine, you’ll find a USB-C port, a USB 3.1 input and an HDMI connector, a microSD card slot, a USB 2.0 port and a headphone/mic combo.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t feature with the Thunderbolt 3, from my personal view I think for a productive notebook within this price category, it should have this kind of port.

Webcam

The system of the front camera or webcam comes with Asus ZenBook 14 UX433FA-DH74 is only at 720 pixels quality which most of the modern laptops has. But, for some users, Webcam with this quality is not good enough.

Fortunately, the manufacturer also claims the advanced infrared (IR) camera on ZenBook 14 has see-in-the-dark capabilities that ensure fast, reliable hands-free face login with Windows Hello.

Screen & Display

As for the screen and display quality, with a whole new modification, it gives us a 14-inch display into a body which you can generally find on a 13-inch laptop. Plus, it comes with Wide-View of Full HD with 1920×1080 pixels max screen resolutions and 4-way Nano-edge bezel Display.

However, even with the premium design, new LED-illuminated numeric pad, and other significant modifications, Asus still does not include the touch screen capabilities on the ZenBook 14 UX433FA-DH74 screen.

Battery

From experience, the ultraportable machine intended for extended battery life. So, according to the manufacturer, this unit is designed to be able to serve its user up to 14 hours of battery life.

Do not expect too much on this because it is probably they’ve tested the battery performance with just minimal processing load, and lowest or half percentage of screen brightness.

But, still this laptop can serve you all day long, and many of its users are very satisfied with the battery life and performance.

Conclusion

Asus ZenBook 14 UX433FA-DH74 is one of the excellent ultrabooks on the current market, even though it is still not the best ultraportables today. But, it has the potential of showing signs of future success to the ZenBook line.

More than that, this unit is not only design for beauty, sleek, and ultracompact, but also stronger for operation in harsh environments including extreme altitudes, temperatures, and humidity.
