When it comes to design, the manufacturer conducts its best on the Spectre lineup on all occasions, especially on the convertible ones. There are two options of color which available so far, and it is the Poseidon Blue and Dark Ash Silver.

However, the one that under review today comes with Poseidon Blue color. Similar to the 13-inch version of Spectre X360, HP makes this laptop even more fashionable than the previous version. Plus, while maintaining the built quality of X360, the latest reproduction makes it more attractive.

Spectre X360 15 is famous for its gemstone angle design and cut. Besides, the modified “gem-cut” style that forms angular edges makes it more unique in style when it comes to design.

The angle of the two corners on the rear fits with Thunderbolt 3 and power button. Also, since both left and right cut edges design are meant to make the lid easier to lift, it may give the users the comfortability in use on this device.

Since Spectre X360 is a 15-inch laptop, it’s a sizeable 2-in-1 notebook with thick bezels (upper and lower) when compared to the computer like Asus ZenBook UX533, and a bit thicker and substantial to Dell XPS 15.

However, when the structures matter is under consideration, those few downsides are not crucially as the latest assets which Spectre X360 15 comprises. So, as a whole, it’s a great design with minor flaws.

HP Spectre X360 15: Keyboard & Trackpad

As for its keyboard, the design remains excellent and also receives many constructive reviews from most of its users. It is a typical backlight island-style or chiclet laptop keyboard with standard white color.

It has several adjustable brightness for its backlighting keycaps so that you can adjust the lighting effect or level depending on the environment. Also, it has a well-spaced keyboard layout, flat keycaps, and good key-travel.

The keyboard also includes a dedicated numeric pad, useful shortcuts lining on the top keys (airplane, media, backlighting, and others). Plus, it delivers with excellent and comfortable keystrokes.

It comes with 11.9 x 5.8 centimeters touchpad, which is more spacious than typical sizes trackpads featured by many other laptops today. Besides, it is a slightly smoother texture than the keyboard keys and provides decent clicks.

However, since it’s reasonably broad, it needs time before you can get used to it. Additionally, the HP Spectre X360 15 operate with Synaptics drivers instead of Windows Precision drivers. It would be better if HP also opted for the Microsoft option.

Our X360 15 review unit features with the 8th Generation of Intel Core i7 H-series, 16 GB of onboard memory, and 1 TB PCI-NVMe SSD type drive. These specs are way too powerful if it just for word processing, web content, and online video streaming.

The Intel Core i7 H Series is one of the famous processors that installed in many high-end notebooks. Plus, with the 16 GB of RAM, it is more than enough in acquiring any content you need.

Also, the PCI-NVMe SSD is fast in reading and writing data. It is very responsive when it comes to running and accessing applications and games, and boot quickly too. Besides, it delivers sufficient room for storing files with its 1 TB storage capacity.

However, the Spectre X360 15 is primarily for an original multimedia purpose. Briefly, this machine has respectable performance in term of creativity on image and video processing.

HP Spectre X360 15: Screen Display

One of the best features of HP Spectre X360 15 is its screen display. Proffers people with the beautiful 4K (2160p resolutions) touchscreen and IPS panel display, the graphics are worthy of attention.

The display cover with Gorilla Glass, it’s a high-grade material and very well built too. Since it’s not for gaming purpose, the display capacity running at 60Hz refresh rate like most modern laptops does.

The touchscreen track precisely and ease, responsive when navigate, and it has beautiful color. Unfortunately, the display is unexpectedly dim since this laptop is for creative productivity.

When talking about the front camera, the manufacturing company comes with the same idea for privacy rationale. Similarly to Lenovo’s ThinkShutter and Huawei’s pop-up camera, X360 15 provides with HP’s Privacy Camera Kill Switch.

The built-in front camera features with HP TrueVision Full HD IR Camera with Dual array digital microphone. Besides, the Kill Switch feature can automatically turn the Webcam off when its user flipped it on.

Also, with the IR camera, you can use the Windows Hello to log into your system quickly since Spectre X360 15 support facial recognition as an option other than using the fingerprint reader and typical login system (pin & password).

HP Spectre X360 15 is an elegant powerhouse. It is a perfect choice for someone still searching a great convertible laptop. You can experience and feel the versatility of 2-in-1 device without forgoing much power.

While the price tag is about $1,800 is not cheap, but for delivering many premium features including design, performance, creativity, endurance, stunning display, adequate connectivity, and many others, it is an outstanding value.

However, Spectre X360 15 also has few minor flaws like its dim display, a bit weighty and large for a tablet mode. Compare to the clamshell laptop like Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme and Dell XPS 15 these two are better in terms of screen brightness.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is a direct competitor of the convertible laptop to this notebook when it comes to performance. However, all of these three laptops are notably very expensive than the review unit.
